GRAND DAMS

Usually the term, “Grand Dams” is reserved for females who have produced a large quantity of crias during their lifetime.  We believe our females are truly grand dams because they have great dispositions, are fantastic mothers, produce abundant milk, are easy birthers, and are simply wonderful!

We purchased Cinderella from Mak & Carol Kronn in Wisconsin after we had purchased her son, RAR Chilean Casino, from them and thought she was the greatest mom.  After Casino came here at age 8 months old, he went on to win first place at Western Regionals three years in a row, is a two time Western Regional Grand Champion, 4 time top 10 Grand National winner and National Champion 2 year old Heavy Wool Male, and earned his R.O.M. and Halter Championship awards with ALSA.  Cinderella has continued to produce outstanding offspring who shine in the show ring and have wonderful dispositions.

Woolsey was our second cria out of our *Chilean Cinderella and has been our favorite llama on the ranch. Since birth, she has been incredibly sweet and wonderful to work with. Woolsey was named after our local Congresswoman, Lynn Woolsey, who we have admired for her work in Congress.  Woolsey has passed along her great personality to her offspring.  Her first crias, RRLR Chilean Eloquence and RRLR Chilean Emaline, have that special sparkle that everyone loves.

Soire’es dam, Sorbet, produced a line of all female crias. So far, Soire’es first two crias are both silver & gray females.  Standing at 47” at her withers, Soire’e is one of our taller females.  Her fiber has a micron count of 20.

Born in 1987, Tierno is our oldest llama and looks no older than our young adults.  Her bones are strong and straight, she  is one of our heaviest milkers, and best of mothers. Tierno is also our world traveler born in Chile, imported to New Zealand, lived with the Kronn’s in Wisconsin and Moss’ in Oregon, and finally to Petaluma, California.  She was a surrogate mother to our Whimsical II, after Whimsical’s mother died when she was 5 weeks old. Tierno nursed both her own cria & Whimsical with both of them showing good weight gains.  Tierno has fantastic crias with sweet dispositions.
